Nancy Pelosi, who was awarded the Margaret Sanger Eugenicist of the Year Award by Planned Genocide Parenthood (go here)has now proclaimed herself the protector of children. This article trumpets her new child protector status…
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) yesterday described herself as a “lioness” when it comes to protecting children.
She also called not only for the U.S. government to process minors arriving illegally from Central America on a “case-by-case basis” but for the government to “treat the Mexican kids the way they treat the non-contiguous country kids.”
“Quite frankly, I would rather they treat the Mexican kids the way they treat the non-contiguous country kids,” Pelosi said at a Capitol Hill press conference on Thursday, claiming that sending these children back to their home countries would be like “sending them back into a burning building.”
“As you probably know by now, that when it comes to the children from my standpoint, I’m like a lioness,” she said. “Just don’t mess with the children, okay?”
“Protector of Children?” Protecting the vulnerable little ones? Sure. Except the unborn who are the most vulnerable children of all…the ones that can’t escape from violence, dismemberment and murder by their own mothers.
Can anyone possibly imagine what level of stupidity and public ignorance this “devout Catholic” will dish out next?
Last week she crowed about how wonderful she thinks the Catholic bishops are on immigration, but when they were digging in their heels over the HHS debacle Pope Nancy had no kind words for them. Then there was this stunning display of ignorance about the Hobby Lobby case:
Nancy Pelosi said Americans should fear the Supreme Court in light of its recent Hobby Lobby decision. That late-June ruling allowed for-profit, secular companies to opt out of mandated contraceptive coverage under the health care law.
“We should be afraid of this court,” the House minority leader told reporters Thursday. She expressed chagrin “that five men should get down to the specifics of whether a woman should use a diaphragm and she should pay for it herself or her boss.”
Presumably Nancy had no problem when an all male supreme court ruled in favor of abortion in Roe v Wade, but now men are to blame for the Hobby Lobby ruling because they are men. If anyone dared to peep that the female judges who dissented from the Hobby Lobby case did so because of their gender there would be hell to pay, but Nancy gets a pass for her blatantly sexist comment about the male judges.
Her ignorance is astounding. The judges did not rule against contraception, but simply allowed companies to exempt themselves from paying for four types of contraceptives that cause abortions. The diaphragm is a barrier method of contraceptive. The ruling had nothing to do with diaphragms and condoms. Then comes the stunning comment that the judges should have nothing to say about whether a woman or her boss pays for it. That’s exactly Hobby Lobby’s point: a woman’s contraceptive choices have nothing to do with her employer. She should make those choices and pay for them herself. To force her employer to pay against his conscience is tyrannical.
Geesh! When it comes to politics I am summoned by my Mennonite roots to hunker down and admit that they are all wicked knaves and tyrants.
