Did you read about the big scary global warming conference in Copenhagen last week? There was another conference with more eminent scientists saying global warming is not happening, and in fact the planet is cooling down. The left wing papers ignored or mocked that conference. Read about it here.

I join in your skepticism regarding the global warming science hysteria. Back in the 1970’s the hysteria was for global cooling! It’s a sad commentary about how hysterial the “science establishment” has become. Far less scientific, and far more ideological. Sad to see, but not surprising, given the tremendous religious pull that environmentalism and naturalistic materialism have on many scientists.BTW, I really enjoy your blog and have added you to the blogroll on my own little blog. Thanks for much for all that you do to help spread the orthodox Catholic faith.Cheers!
Ever noticed that no one ever speaks of El Nino, etc. anymore? Talk about a political football and moneymaker! Glad to see I’m not the only one who thinks this is just so much gobbledygook! Anybody up for stopping genocide in Africa, instead?
More and more the issues with Global Warming seem blown out of proportion. To mee it seems like the evidence for cooling is piling up, but our polution may have slowed and varried the earth’s transition from warming to cooling. Whatever it may be, I don’t think we are getting the whole picture from the msm. (Aside: Mark its always cool to see fellow E. Washingtonians on Catholic Blogs!)
James,Hello! I’ve left you a note on your blog. Thanks for introducing yourself! E. Washington rocks!Cheers!
Oil shortages . . .Food shortages . . .Acid rain . . .Global warming . . .All part of the growing dust heap.
Combating climate change may not be a question of who will carry the burden but could instead be a rush for the benefits, according to new economic modeling presented at “Climate Change: Global Risks, Challenges & Decisions” hosted by the University of Copenhagen.Contrary to current cost models for lowering greenhouse gases emissions and fighting climate change, a group of researchers from the University of Cambridge conclude that even very stringent reductions of can create a macroeconomic benefit, if governments go about it the right way.“Where many current calculations get it wrong is in the assumption that more stringent measures will necessarily raise the overall cost, especially when there is substantial unemployment and underuse of capacity as there is today”, explains Terry Barker, Director of Cambridge Centre for Climate Change Mitigation Research (4CMR), Department of Land Economy, University of Cambridge and a member of the Scientific Steering Committee of the Congress.
We’ve got to be united to save earth! Earth Hour is practiced at large scale in all developed and developing countries but there has been more publicity and awareness this year, as well as participation from large corporations like http://www.commit21.com/ which is a good sign – that there is still hope and that people still care!Let’s all do this, no matter where you are! Saturday, 28 March 2009. Lights off from 8.30pm to 9.30pm!
