The American Catholic bishops have vowed to fight President elect Obama’s radical pro abortion agenda. In strong statements criticizing cafeteria Catholic Joe Biden, they said an aggressively pro abortion policy would be read as an attack on the Catholic Church. Read about it here.

While always happy to hear our good Bishops are rolling up their collective sleeves, I can’t help but wonder where they were last week.It’s somewhat easier to stand on the porch and puff up after the parade has already gone by.

Too little, too late. On the other hand, not enough (time, and forgiveness for the 2 billion dollar bailout at Catholics’ expense for hiding and protecting priests who molested our children.)Sorry. Except for the notable few, I have no faith in bishops. Once your shepherd has literally fed you to wolves, it’s kind of hard to trust….
Many of the bishops were out in force and drawing fire from pro-Obama Catholics prior to the election. Notables include the Bishops of Dallas and Fort Worth.Part of the problem we face is a small minority of so-called “liberal Catholics” who work overtime to confuse the teachings of the bishops’, providing cover for supporting pro-abortion candidates. Such arguments are particularly effective at confusing the 65-75% of Catholics who don’t attend mass on a regular basis. While there is no excuse for such ignorance, woe to those who use that ignorance to lead their fellow Catholics astray. (Pray for them.)Fr. Now it’s our job to help communicate their teaching.
