It looks like the mainstream media is at last beginning to wake up to the real disaster looming over our earth…not climate change or even the pandemic, not overpopulation, but under population.

It’s called the demographic winter and we should have been aware of this for a long time. Indeed the documentary that first brought our attention to the plummeting birth rate came out in 2008

The world is ill-prepared for the global crash in children being born which is set to have a “jaw-dropping” impact on societies, say researchers.

Falling fertility rates mean nearly every country could have shrinking populations by the end of the century.

And 23 nations – including Spain and Japan – are expected to see their populations halve by 2100.

Countries will also age dramatically, with as many people turning 80 as there are being born.

There are some physical reasons for the drop off like the mysteriously falling sperm count in men, but the main reason for fewer births is obvious: better education and career choices for women, women who do choose to have children having them later and more widespread access to artificial contraception and abortion.

All the warnings Pope Paul VI gave about artificial contraception in Humane Vitae were true, but they were not extreme enough. Artificial contraception and abortion are actually bringing about a literal abolition of man.

For a population to renew itself and even keep to the same level….not to grow…every woman of child bearing age needs to give birth to around 2.7 children. In the 1950s the birth rate was 4.7. In most developed countries the birth rate has fallen below replacement levels now for over ten years. The global rate fell to 2.4 by 2017 and by the turn of the century scientists reckon it will be 1.7.

What else is driving the lower birth rate? Young people are not choosing to marry and have children. Not only that, an increasing number are choosing not to make love. They can’t be bothered.

Why are young men not bothering to woo young women and make love and make babies? The reasons are complicated but among them are the aggressiveness of the modern feminist. High powered career focussed women are not interested in marriage and babies and many young men are not interested in this type of woman so the guys just opt out. Another contributing factor to the falling birth rate is the twisted approach to sex caused by pornography. An article in London’s Daily Mail explains the research done on the effect porn and masturbation have on male libido. The short version is, guys find porn more stimulating than the real thing and self abuse easier than building a real relationship.

Did we need a scientific researcher to discover that?

In other words, the modern, hedonistic approach to sexuality is killing us.

What does the future hold? The future belongs to the young,  the energetic, the fruitful and prolific.

It belongs to the Asians and the Africans.
