In the summer of 1987 I made a hitch hiking pilgrimage to Jerusalem from England staying in monasteries and convents on the way.

While in France I went to the Convent of St Gildard where one can venerate the  incorrupt body of St Bernadette.

I had a most marvelous and amazing encounter which I recount in this week’s episode of Stories of the Unexpected.
