The other day I was talking philosophy with my college student son and asked, “So do you know what fatalism is?”

“Something to do with death?”

“Ha. Not really.”

Later on I realized that he was right. Fatalism and fatalities are linked because fatalism says we are under the control of some power greater than ourselves that controls our destiny and what greater power that controls our ultimate destiny is there but death?
